My baby turned 5!

A few weeks ago my oldest son turned 5.  I really can't believe how quickly it has gone.  He looks so much like a boy than a toddler or child anymore.  It makes me sad, but also happy knowing that I've gotten to spend so much time with him these last 5 years.  This year is his last year of half days so we are going to make the most of it before Kindergarten starts next year!  Happy 5th Birthday Kellen!  I love you so much!

He's into TMNT right now so the party was all about the Turtles.  I'm also really proud of myself for making that cake.  I was so nervous I wasn't going to be able to pull it off, but it worked!

Holiday season has begun and this family was ready.  These twin boys were eager to talk about Halloween, which was the night before, and Santa.  Who needs turkey in between those two fun holidays?  We had a lot of fun running around and playing hide and seek.

Memories at each age

Isn't it funny how quickly time goes?  You think, oh I'll totally remember what my kid liked to eat, or sing or watch at this age.  Then you have another kid 2 years later and you really can't remember what your older kid liked to eat.  It's only been two years.  How the heck are you supposed to remember these things when you don't have time to write them in a baby book?  See the answer below.  I've starting doing this with my children every year (this little girl is a client, not mine, though I wish I had a girl) and it's fun to see how their answer changes and you have documentation through the years! Easy Peasy as my children say.

When this little girl's mom and I were talking about doing photos for her two year shoot I suggested this  and she jumped on it.  She had seen it on Pinterest and it's exactly what she was looking for.  So hopefully she is well on her way to documenting "E"'s likes and dislikes through the years.

I had a great time meeting this family!  It's so heart warming when all of the members of a family can get together and take photos.  We had a lovely warm day and a quaint backdrop.

This post is long overdue.  In fact, the baby arrived about a month ago!  I was so excited to meet them and photograph this special time in their lives.  Mom was even really brave and let her 2 year old paint her pregnant belly!

College Graduation Party | Saratoga, Ca

I was so delighted when this family called me to tell me that their daughter had graduated college and they were having a celebration for her.  Did I want to come photograph it?  Heck yes!  I originally shot this girl's 16th birthday party 6 years ago.  I can't believe how quickly the time has gone.  The party was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the people were lovely.  They had the biggest pan of Paella I have ever seen.  No joke.

A morning out with the boys

I've realized that as my older son goes into transitional kindergarten in the Fall, I will lose the ability to do morning outings with both boys together.  So hopefully this summer we can can get out and about and do some fun field trips.  Today's trip was to Emma Prusch Park in San Jose.  The boys enjoyed all the chickens and other animals as well as some time on the playground and running around in the large open grass area.

Family Shoot | San Jose, Ca

I love doing first birthday shoots because you never know what kind of cake eater you are going get.  Little "L" was very clean, but enjoyed her first bites of cake.  Older brother was even allowed to get in on the action and was so excited!  Having two boys myself, I always enjoy photographing little girls.  They have such fun dress up opportunities!

Family Shoot | San Francisco, Ca

I was so honored to shoot this lovely family because I've known the mom for many years.  I couldn't wait to play with her adorable children and they didn't disappoint.  If anyone knows what my husband looks like, you know I love a redhead!  Even though it was 90 degrees in San Jose, and 58 in San Francisco, we embraced the cold and had a fun hike through the park.
